what is lymphatic drainage?

Lymphatic drainage is a relatively recent technique that is intended to help improve the functioning of the lymphatic system. Lymph is the liquid that circulates through our body transporting waste substances derived from metabolic processes and which have to be eliminated in order not to cause damage to the organism. To avoid this or to try to alleviate its effects, therapists use manual or mechanical means to stimulate the movement of the lymph. Thus, using the hands, a gentle, painless and non-invasive massage is carried out which helps the lymph to move from the place where it is stagnant so that it can be eliminated or drained by the body itself. There are also more advanced techniques that use mechanical procedures such as, for example, pressure therapy, in which, by means of pneumatic boots, pressure is applied to the area to be treated and then the air is emptied so that the lymph is released and follows its natural course
